Drink Up: Rum is Neat

It is our theory, as well as those in the know, that rum is set to be the new whiskey. Worth sipping solo, it’s time that rum emerged from its hiding spot in overly sweet poolside daiquiris and outdated Mai Tai’s and was enjoyed for its complexities and distiller-to-distiller uniqueness. (Note: we are authoritatively pounding a lecturn as we type this.)

In a word, rum is neat. And we wanted to drink it that way. So we headed to the simply-named, newly-opened Neat in Glendale.

Today is an exciting day in Alie & Georgia-land. Not only are we on the front page of Cooking Channel’s website, but we FINALLY get to show off our new web series, Classy Ladies With Alie & Georgia.

We put SO MUCH work into this new show, and are stupidly happy with how it turned out.  This is nothing like Drinks With Alie & Georgia, our first series. For Classy Ladies, we take culinary classes in order to solve a conundrum, and take what we learned back to our radass kitchen to create an inspired cocktail…all while wearing our signature fancy vintage dresses and being our goofy selves.

Holy crap! We’ve got a video up at People.com! We met a few of their lovely writers at a fancy dinner, and they invited us in to make a drink for the office, which turned into making a drink video for their website.

Single or spoken for, everyone has reason enough to imbibe on the most loved/hated holiday around. Serve our cocktails to friends, someone you love…or just someone you want to bone. We won’t judge.
